One of Oliver’s first friends, Boomer Jo, passed away at 1:27 pm today from lymphoma. He was 9 years old.
I firmly believe that Oliver loves other dogs because of Boomer. Oliver’s first big dog encounter could have been scary, but Boomer let Oliver climb all over him and they rolled in the front yard together.
RIP Boomer.
Little asshole just chewed a hole in the fuzzy electric blanket. I almost wish he would have gotten a little zap!

Oliver likes to stretch out while he is sunning, which is why his back legs are all sprawled out. He always reminds me of a Cornish hen when he does that. His little hindquarters look like the perfect place for car spoilers, but I guess that’s what a tail is. A spoiler for a dog.

When you are a local celebrity, you can chew your bone and lay in the sun all damn day if you want to.

Can you find the wiener dog that made the mess in this picture?
I found this on my camera phone. I think I’m going to submit it to Unsolved Mysteries. Maybe Jennifer Love Hewitt will whisper to him.

Spooky!
Ollie needs a new AP offshore watch. His internal clock is all messed up. He slept all day in the sun and then he attacked me on the couch last night at around midnight and wanted to play just as I was relaxing. I’m usually pretty willing to oblige his requests to play tug-of-war, but I had to draw the line at midnight.

Dachshund lovers ever where are morning the passing of Suzanne Pleshette, who played Fran Garrison in The Ugly Dachshund. She also stared as Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show and made numerous appearance on popular sitcoms.
Pleshette died of respiratory failure associated with her treatment for lung cancer. She was 70 years old.
Good news. We don’t have to seek addiction treatment because of our love of wiener dogs. According to the American Kennel Association, dachshunds are one of the top ten most popular dogs in the United States.
- Labrador Retriever
- Yorkshire Terrier
- German Shepherd
- Golden Retriever
- Beagle
- Boxer
- Dachshund
- Poodle
- Shih Tzu
- Bulldog

I thought Oliver was sick this morning, but I think he’s just having one of those days. It’s not like he used cisco to network our entire apartment last night, but he was up playing guard dog when the cops were called on our neighbors. He’s just been sunning, sleeping, and enjoying some Caesars, like a good dog should.
