Lounging

Unlike the rest of us, Ollie has no need for Oakley watches, since his life is one big vacation. Here we catch him lounging in front of the fireplace…again, and again.

Oliver’s favorite place to lounge during the winter is in front of the fireplace with a bone. We haven’t had a fire going very often this winter, but as soon as he hears the crackle of the fire, he’s there to soak up the heat.
Don’t go thinking we’re all fancy with our fireplace, either. It’s just a gas fireplace that turns on with a flip of a switch. There’s no chandeliers hanging above our dining room table.
I was so disappointed last night when my sister’s boyfriend arrived for a visit and Ollie didn’t recognize him.
Joe was around every day for the first year and a half of Ollie’s life, so I don’t know why Ollie barked and growled and even nipped at him. Maybe he needs some barcode scanners to identify him, because handing treats out like candy, which is Joe’s signature move, didn’t have any effect.
Sorry, Joe. We’ll try again today!

Ollie got a special Secret Santa gift this week; the most adorable elf costume you’ve ever seen. My Secret Santa must have gotten it on Cyber Monday because I haven’t seen it in the stores.
There is a hat to go along with the holly collar, but Ollie hasn’t warmed up to wearing it just yet.

While we were on vacation in October (oh, that’s so long ago!) Ollie stayed with Floyd for a few days, and they became fast friends. They played, they sunned, they got too many treats from my mom and probably discussed the best diet pills, then decided to just chase each other around the house instead.

I remember the days when Ollie loved pet beds. He looked so cute and warm, cuddled inside his little puppy bed. I always want to buy him a new bed when I see a cute one, but then I remember this…

The day I came home from work and Ollie had destroyed his first pet bed. There were many beds after this one, including a plastic container that busboys collect dirty dishes in and a cardboard box…

In the end, Ollie just wanted to sleep in bed with us…

My mom always tells me that Ollie is too skinny and I always argue with her and tell her that he gets half a container of Caesars every morning, lots of treats, and dry food at his disposal all day.
Since it got cold out, I’ve noticed that Ollie is laying by his food bowl every night, even though it’s full of dry food, looking pitiful, so I’ve been giving him the other half of the day’s container of Caesars.
Well, he’s been packing on the winter weight thanks to an extra meal a day. If this keeps up, he’s going to have to consider NV diet pills. He’s already lazy; I don’t want a fat weiner, too!

All of our dogs love to spend time outdoors sunning, sniffing the fresh air, and scoping out the backyard for bunnies, birds, and squirrels, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they would love some time at an Outer Banks rentals. Makes me feel so guilty for not having a backyard for Ollie to enjoy every day.
