Dachshund-Picasso-Sketch

It’s been said that someone in our family has to get a dachshund tattoo, and I honestly think that Picasso’s “The Dog” would be a super cute choice. And while I’m almost enough of a weiner dog lover to get a tattoo of one of the little guys, I don’t think my level of commitment is this great…

FURminator Deshedding Tool

corrin | Pictures,Toys | Sunday, 29 March 2009

Ollie is registered with the AKC as a miniature, smooth haired dachshund, so you would think shedding would be minimal. Think again. There are little black hairs on my clothes, on the floor when I sweep, and yes, I’ve even found a dog hair or two in my lunch on several occasions.

The good people at FURminator heard my woes, and were kind enough to send a small deshedding tool to try on Ollie. The tool removes the loose undercoat of dogs and cats, reducing shedding up to 90%. It’s well designed and easy to hold, and the brushing helps bring out your pet’s natural oils, making their coat and skin healthy and shiny.

After seeing the commercials and hearing all the rave reviews, I had high hopes for the FURminator deshedding tool, but not for Ollie’s patience in letting me brush him, but I was pleasantly surprised. After giving the FURminator a good sniff, Ollie let me start the deshedding and thought it was a special treat. Like a puppy massage.

After a few strokes, I was completely impressed with the FURminator. Remember, Ollie is small and has short hair and a smooth coat. I never thought the FURminator would remove a handful of loose hairs from his undercoat.

The FURminator deshedding tool gets four paws up from Ollie and I, and a good deshedding is going to become a bath time ritual. The tools come in different sizes and are great for cats and dogs, so if you have a furry friend, you need a FURminator deshedding tool.

Ferocious

He sounds so ferocious, doesn’t he? What you don’t see is him stopping every minute or so to lick my face and roll on his back so I pet his belly.

I don’t know how I missed this, but Ollie was a featured weiner dog on WeenieChic!

So exciting!
