Shadows
I think taking a rest in someone’s shadow during a walk just may be the epitome of weiner dog laziness.

Since this blog is undergoing a rebranding, I think it would be great to print T-shirts with the new URL and header (which is in the process of being redesigned). It’s catchy and cute and I think it would draw some (crazy weiner dog loving) visitors!
With no setup free and no minimum orders at www.customyourtshirt.com, custom t-shirts are totally in the rebranding budget and will be fun to create!
Think they’d fulfill a special request for doggie tshirts?
We have been in Las Vegas since Wednesday to celebrate our anniversary and are totally missing our puppy. We know he’s in good hands at Auntie Barbara’s Bed, Bat & Biscuit, but we can’t wait to get home to Ollie!

You may have noticed that Ollie’s been testing some products lately and participating in sponsored conversation. We both really enjoy this aspect of blogging, and IZEA just released a great video that explains how sponsored conversations work and how they benefit everyone.
What do you think of Ollie’s reviews? Do you have a product that you would like Ollie to start a conversation about?
In an effort to provide some outdoor space for Ollie, we’ve added patio furniture and flowers to our balcony and screened in the slats so he can’t poke his head through and get hurt. We leave the screen door open when we’re home, and he goes in and out as he likes. He loves to lay on the couch cushions and soak up the sun in the morning.
[Insert major fail here, because I've yet to take a picture of Ollie lounging outside!]
As I was planting marigolds this weekend, Ollie walked right up to the new flowers, and peed on them. Shows how much he appreciates his new outdoor paradise!
As much as we would like to, we’ve never taken an overnight trip with Ollie. Sure, he loves going to the doggie hotel, but it breaks our hearts ot leave him for a whole week. Plus, it’s hard to find a vacation destination that offers pet friendly activities and hotels, but I was doing some research on Kissimmee and was really happy to learn that the area is quite pet-friendly!
www.visitkissimmee.com has loads of information to plan our visit, from arts and cultural events to dining and golfing, but I was most excited to see that you can search places to stay by pet-friendliness! No more calling each individual hotel to inquire about their pet policy and being disappointed when they say “no pets allowed!” Almost a dozen hotels in the Kissimmee area welcome pets as guests!
Besides pet-friendly accommodations, there are tons of outdoor activities in Kissimme where you can surely take your pet along. Parks, hiking trails, and lakes are great places for the whole family to relax and enjoy. I even found out that Walt Disney World has some great kennels to take care of your pets while you spend a day at one of their four parks!
Whether you’re traveling with or without pets, Kissimmee has lots to offer!

Weiner Takes All: A Dogumentary about the unsavory side of professional weiner dog racing is on my must see list. Weiner dog owners are a passioinate group of people (I’m including us in this group because…well, you are reading a website all about our weiner dog), so I can only imagine the competitiveness in the world of weiner dog racing!
Welcome to the world of competitive wiener dogs, a world that boasts healthy dachshunds and rabid owners. Unleash the truth as we track America’s sexiest and fastest weenies on the professional dachshund circuit.
We’ll be attending our first weiner dog races this July at Arlington Park and I must see the documentary before then!
Since January, I’ve lost almost 25 pounds. I’ve changed my diet, added more exercise, and made it a point to take Ollie for extra long walks every day. I’m healthier, Ollie’s happier, and now our walks can help others by logging our miles with BeeWell Miles.
BeeWell Miles is sponsored by BumbleBee foods, the same company that makes the great tuna products that I’ve incorporated into my new diet, and donates $0.15 for every mile walked (April 1 through October 31) to the Breast Cancer Network of Strength which provides support for those fighting breast cancer.
The BeeWell website is a fantastic place to plan your walks, learn to balance your nutrition and activity level, log your miles and meals, and get great exercise and nutritional advice, while supporting a great cause. There are also over 15,000 prizes to be won (including music downloads, flowers, giftcards, and a spa getaway) by logging your miles and purchasing pink labeled BumbleBee products!
You can join BeeWell Miles on Facebook and Twitter to get the latest updates on the program and really take advantage of a great community focused on making everyone happier and healthier.
So grab you dog, and go for a nice long walk and support the Breast Cancer Network of Strength while you’re at it!

I’ve been learning about my new camera for the past few weeks, and I’ve found that our pups are the most willing subjects, especially when testing shutterspeeds and action shots.
Floydie posed for my best picture to date last weekend. Doesn’t he look just like The Dog photos?
