Everyone is always surprised to hear that Ollie is cool as a cucumber during vet visits. If anything, I’m the one that’s a little antsy – I never seen to make it out of the vet without spending $200.
I’ve wisened up a little bit over the past three years of weiner dog ownership – I ask for a prescription for Ollie’s heartworm and flea medicine and use Petcarerx coupons.
The vet doesn’t particularly appreciate me not buying Ollie’s medications at the office, but weiner dogs are expensive and we have to save money wherever we can!

Ollie pulled out all three of his lifeless Bobo carcasses toys at one time last night in hopes that I would play tug with him. Of course, I did…and then I dressed him up like the Cruella Deville of stuffed dog toys with his coat made of Bobos.

Even though Bobo is nearly decapitated and completely devoid of all stuffing, Ollie loves him all the same. He should – he’s the one that inflicted all the injuries.
You guessed we would bring Ollie back some souvenirs from our trip to Texas, didn’t you? We even made a special trip to Lofty Dog in Austin where Ollie got a new Longhorns t-shirt. And a trip to the University of Texas Co-Op wouldn’t be complete without a Longhorns hoodie.
So, it ended up being a Longhorn fashion show yesterday. Ollie was sporting his new Longhorns t-shirt and hoodie in exchange for treats. Lots of treats.

As always, the hoodie was his favorite (and it appears to be made by the exact same company that makes his favorite dachshund sweatshirts) and he wore it the rest of the day.

I think he’s ready to be a Longhorn.
