A few weeks ago we stumbled across Barkitecture while downtown. It’s an annual event where Austin architects and designers create unique dog houses which are auctioned off to benefit local shelters and animal rescue organizations.
Unfortunately, Ollie wasn’t with us to take advantage of the photo opps, but I did snap some pictures of a few of my favorite designs.

Perfect for a wiener dog! So upset Ollie wasn’t with us.

Honoring Austin’s food trailers.

Ruff-ing it. This was one of my faves.

Very FLW. I’d love to have this one in my yard.
Sometimes you see dachshunds on television or in ads and they aren’t the cutest thing. I mean, they are cute because they are wiener dogs and wiener dogs inheriently make people happy, but they aren’t cute cute.
Kind of like babies.
But I’m convinced that Ollie is an exceptionally photogenic wiener. I should have gotten him an agent when he was a puppy. I couldn’t walk down the street without someone stopping to pet him or asking to pick him up.
Then he found his voice and decided he’d much rather bark at people than socialize. Now my meal ticket has a bad attidue and is a mooch to boot.

I woke up with a super sore back this morning because someone nosed his way between my knees and settled in for the night. I probably should have scooched him over, but I’ve learned not to disturb a cute and sleepy wiener dog unless midnight playtime is your idea of fun.
I’m a victim of his cuteness, yet again.

I ordered a new camera this week (a Canon T2i, if you’re a shutterbug) and as soon as it arrived, Ollie became my first subject.

Pretty impressive for my very first photo, right? I had a good model.

I recently spent the afternoon in the super cute town of Wimberley, TX, with a friend. We had lunch, visited the downtown shops, and stopped for a tasting of Texas wines.
I didn’t buy much. Just two bottles of wine and a cowboy hat for Ollie.
The wine may have had something to do with the cowboy hat purchase.
