The last time I boarded Ollie, he worried himself sick. Literally.
This time, I decided Ollie would stay with the vet while I was out of town in case he decided on a repeat performance. I know you’re thinking kennels and sick pets, but our vet has deluxe pet suites complete with (are you ready for this?) webcams!

I downloaded their app, entered in Ollie’s suite number, and I could check on him anytime I wanted all weekend (read: every hour on the hour).
I was relieved to see that he settled in quickly and didn’t seem nervous. I was hoping he’d get more play time (he always seemed to be napping every time I checked in on him) and apparently he refused to go to the bathroom (the vet is in downtown Austin so they have an indoor astroturf park) but the important thing is that he didn’t get sick!
So, is this over the top (in the best way possible) or what? Do you board your pet anywhere with special perks like this?

This is what happens when someone tries to Facetime with me. or Skype. Or call. Or generally try to hold my attention in any way, thus taking it away from Ollie.
He turns into a circus performer.
Those are my knees he’s teetering on like a billy goat.
And after he took a flying leap off the bed, he ran circles around the coffee table in the living room, pulled a blanket off the desk chair, and humped a pillow.
Good times, friends. Good times.

Happy Easter!
Ollie is lounging around eating duck treats and generally thinking life is grand today. How about you?

They say that children of today will be the most photographed generation ever thanks to social media, their parents addiction to it, and (as they grow up) their own narcissism. I’d say the same holds true for the pets of this generation.
Or maybe just Ollie.
These are just some of the pictures taken in the past week.

Last weekend I was visiting friends and family in Chicago for my birthday when I received the following video.
It was my birthday and Ollie was getting presents. Go figure.
Actually, that sounds about right.
