We head downtown to Zilker Park several times a week for a nice long walk. Last week, this little bit of graffiti appeared on a footbridge and I think it’s just wonderful.

I’m glad I’ve started bringing my camera with me, because every walk is different.

The Schlitterbahn Waterparks mascot is an adorable dachshund named Schatze. Which makes me love Schlitterbahn that much more than I already do.

(I would have my picture with him from last summer if I hadn’t accidentally hit delete! So upsetting.)

Ollie takes great pleasure in peeing on every tree he passes, so the least we can do is make his blog carbon neutral by planting a tree in his name, right?

According to a study by Alexander Wissner-Gross, PhD, physicist at Harvard University and environmental activist, an average website causes about 0.02g (0,0008oz.) of carbon dioxide for each visit. Assuming an average blog gets 15,000 visits a month, it has yearly carbon dioxide emissions of 3,6kg (8lb.). This can mainly be tracked back to the immense energy usage from (mainframe) computers, servers, and their cooling systems.

The Arbor Day Foundation, in conjunction with the German company kaufDA, is planting tress in Plumas National Forest in Northern California to replace those destroyed by forest fires. For every blog that posts about the initiatives and displays the badge in their sidebar, one tree will be planted.
