Dachshunds have a tendency to show up in the strangest places. They are funny little creatures so they get roped into all kinds of silly situations.
Like a racy comic book series in The Daily Mirror during wartime Britain featuring Fritz & Jane – who apparently had a knack of misplacing her clothing, much to the British soldier’s chagrin, I’m sure.
Chrystabel Leighton-Porter was the inspiration for Jane and was known during her time as Britain’s first sex bomb.
Apparently a photoshoot was required to accurately portray her likeness alongside Fritz.
Weird.
Chrystabel Leighton-Porter was born very close to where I live! Many of my mother’s contemporaries had racy stories to tell of that era.
