PETCO Premium Nutrition Pledge
Ollie’s standard dry food is Eukanuba breed specific for dachshunds, which I buy at PETCO. It’s #1 ingredient is chicken with no fillers, and it is made to maintain healthy joint and bone structure, which is so important for a dog that’s longer than he is tall!
Since I buy Ollie’s dry food at PETCO it was nice to hear about their Premium Nutrition Pledge. They are committed to offering pet food formulas that go beyond the minimum nutritional requirements and now have at least 2 trained nutrition experts in every single one of their 950 stores nationwide.
PETCO has also created a library of education materials that are available online and will be holding pet nutrition workshops at every store on Saturday, November 14th at 2 pm.

I used to feed Jasmine Eukanuba Dachshund formula, but now feed her Innova Small Bites kibble with a bit of California Natural canned food mixed in. While the original impetus was an illness (which was proven NOT to have been caused by a change of food as I originally thought), the research I did to try to figure out what was best to feed Jasmine was very valuable. I hope it helps you as well!

Miss Emma eats the same dogfood…and she loves it! I love giving her what will help her back and coat…glad to hear you approve of it as well!
Big kudos to Petco. Love pet stores that pay close attention to good nutrition for animals, one problem I have two cats no dogs and sometimes I feel that some people don’t seem to care about what cats need.

I, too, love Petco although my (no longer on this plane of existent) golden retriever preferred “the other brand(s).” My cats, too, must just be junkies to store bought stuff since I’ve tried the more natural, healthier approach. Not sure what the stuff tastes like, but to date not a single animal friend of mine will “eat healthy!”

We tried to feed our cats healthy food, but they wouldn’t eat it. I guess we’d have to go through a few brands to see what would work. I like Petco. Their staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Good program they have going too.
