We Have a Problem
By “we” I mean Oliver.
And by “problem” I mean peeing on his food and water bowls.
This morning was the third time in the past month that I’ve woken up to find the area around Ollie’s food and water bowl swimming in pee. I actually had to empty pee out of his water bowl. That’s just not right.
He’s healthy, well-behaved, and goes outside on a schedule. He gets plenty of exercise and attention. He’s not “acting out” in any other ways.
Has anyone else had a dog do this? I thought that dogs typically won’t mess where they eat or sleep?
Help!
When he’s not busy peeing in the house he’s the cutest darn thing.

oh no! Im sorry to hear that, nope we havent dealt with that before.

Have you taken him to the vet to make sure nothing else is going on?

Megs – He was at the vet just last week for some allergy issues. I left a message for the vet this morning. Hopefully he has some insight!

have you changed his food or something? I wonder if it reminds him of something and thats telling him to pee on it?
he’s marking it as his, but now you have to figure out why.

John – Nothing has changed food-wise. Maybe he just wants bottled water.

Angie – My friend runs a dachshund rescue and she says it’s classic anxiety. I’ve taken him for extra walks the past few days to calm him down before bed and he hasn’t peed on anything since. I think he sensed that I’ve been on edge because of the divorce and is acting out on my behalf. Ha.
